Father Richard J. Blinn, S.J., died Wednesday, May 11, in Regis Infirmary at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos, California, after a long illness. He was 77 years old. Born in Nampa, Idaho, on October 23, 1933, Dick entered the Society of Jesus at Sacred Heart Novitiate in Los Gatos on August 14, 1957. He pronounced final vows on December 8, 1990, at Jesuit High School in Sacramento. May he rest in peace!
All members of the California Province and those applied to it are to offer or celebrate one first intention Mass and members of the Jesuit Community at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center and those attached to it but living elsewhere (cf. 2011 Catalogus USA, pgs. 36-38) are to offer or celebrate one additional first intention Mass for the repose of Dick's soul.
