Requiscat In Pace: Brother Lawrence Fook Thoo, S.J.
Brother Lawrence Fook Thoo, S.J., died of a heart attack on Tuesday, February 22, at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose, California, after a brief illness. He was 72 years old. Born in Penang, Malasia, on September 26, 1938, Wren entered the Society of Jesus at St. Francis Xavier Novitiate in Hong Kong on December 3, 1960. He pronounced final vows on November 7, 1971, at St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco. May he rest in peace!
All members of the California Province and those applied to it are to offer or celebrate one first intention Mass and members of the Jesuit Community at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center and those attached to it but living elsewhere (cf. 2011 Catalogus USA, pgs. 36-38) are to offer or celebrate one additional first intention Mass for the repose of Lawrence’s soul.

June 10, 2018 - The Jesuits West Province of the Society of Jesus held its Ordination Mass near the U.S.-Mexico border to call attention to the plight of immigrants. Province leaders and priests also participated in a Prayer Rally on June 8 at Chicano Park in San Diego in support of immigrants.
