Requiscat In Pace: Father Donald P. Merrifield, S.J.
Father Donald P. Merrifield, S.J., died Thursday, February 25, at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, California. He was 81 years old. Born in Los Angeles, California, on November 14, 1928, Don entered the Society of Jesus at Sacred Heart Novitiate in Los Gatos, California, on August 14, 1951. He pronounced final vows on August 15, 1970, at Loyola University in Los Angeles. May he rest in peace!
All members of the California Province and those applied to it are to offer or celebrate one first intention Mass and members of the Jesuit Community at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center and those attached to it but living elsewhere (cf. 2010 Catalogus USA, pgs. 36-39) are to offer or celebrate one additional first intention Mass for the repose of Don's soul.
