Father John D. McAnulty, S.J., died peacefully, Saturday, April 4, at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos, California. He was 88 years old. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on January 31, 1921, John entered the Society of Jesus at Sacred Heart Novitiate in Los Gatos on November 1, 1946. He pronounced final vows on November 6, 1971, at the Jesuit Novitiate in Montecito, California. May he rest in peace.
All members of the California Province and those applied to it are to offer or celebrate one first intention Mass and members of the Jesuit Community at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center and those attached to it but living elsewhere (cf. 2009 Catalogus USA, pgs. 37-40) are to offer or celebrate one additional first intention Mass for the repose of John’s soul.
