Father Ron Funke, SJ, entered into God’s peace March 21 at the Sacred Heart Jesuit Center, Los Gatos, Calif. He was 83. Teacher, hospital chaplain, parish priest, and sacramental minister, Fr. Funke’s upbeat approach and deep commitment to service made him a treasured presence in many lives.
Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix hosted a fundraising dinner for the Kino Border Initiative, a nonprofit in Nogales, Ariz., and Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, dedicated to providing food, clothing, and shelter to migrants. More than $150,000 was raised at the March 25 event.
