February 12, 2018 — Several athletes competing in the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, have ties to Jesuit colleges and universities.

Rubén Solario has been named the next president of Sacred Heart Nativity Schools in San Jose.

More than 1,200 well-wishers attended a January 27 celebration of the 80th birthday of Father Gerald T. Wade, SJ, chancellor, alumnus, and former president of Bellarmine College Preparatory (San Jose).

The Most Rev. José H. Gomez, archbishop of Los Angeles, will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Loyola Marymount University January 30.

On Jan. 19, more than 800 students from Jesuit schools from across the United States gathered in Washington, D.C., for the Jesuit Mass for Life.
