Commencement Speakers Announced for Universities Within Jesuits West Province

The following is a list of speakers and dates for the 2018 commencement ceremonies at the five Jesuit universities within the Jesuits West Province 10-state region.

College of Arts & Sciences (Undergraduate Humanities & Sciences), May 18: Dr. Arthur J. Ammann (pediatric immunologist known for his research on HIV transmission)

November 9, 2018 — Today, Jesuits West is announcing the province will release the names of those Jesuits with credible allegations of sexual abuse of minors since 1950.

November 6, 2018 — Benefactors and friends of Jesuits West attended the White Collar Luncheon held on All Saints Day at the Isaac Orr Room, Seattle Archdiocese Chancery. Over 25 Jesuits from Seattle U, Seattle Prep, Bellarmine Prep Tacoma and other NW Jesuit ministries were in attendance.

November 6, 2018 — Michel Euclid (Mitch/M.E.) L’Heureux, a lifelong champion for Jesuit education, passed away peacefully at his home in Lake San Marcos, CA, in July.

November 1, 2018 — Our new Director of Communications for the Jesuits West Province comes from our own Jesuit family. Tracey Primrose, who served for the last six and ½ years as the Secretary for Communications for the Jesuit Conference, is joining our team at Jesuits West.

October 29, 2018 — Most Reverend Michael Barber, SJ, Bishop of Oakland, ordained 6 Jesuits as Deacons at Christ the Light Cathedral. Two Deacons featured in the video, Andrew Laguna, SJ, and Francis Nguyen, SJ, are from Jesuits West Province.

October 23, 2018 – Two Jesuit Scholastics in 1st Studies, James Millikan, SJ, and Raymond Parcon, SJ, share their personal experiences of serving in Alaska frontier villages that are accessible only by plane or sea.

October 11, 2018 - TESTAROSSA Winery, located at the former Novitiate Winery in Los Gatos, Calif., hosted a 130th Anniversary luncheon commemorating the 1st harvest of grapes at the Novitiate Winery, October 11, 1888. TESTAROSSA owners, Rob & Diana Jensen invited the Sacred Heart Jesuit Community and Staff for wine tasting and buffet lunch.
