Matthew, 28, received a bachelor’s in history and international studies at the University of Richmond in Virginia and a master’s in international relations and security studies from Syracuse University in New York. He worked as a consultant in telecommunications and government in Washington, D.C. Matthew was moved to join the Jesuits after he heard one of Pope Francis’ speeches during the papal visit to Washington. He enjoys skiing and hiking. (USA Northeast Province)
