Requiscat In Pace: Gregory D. Aherne, S.J.

Father Gregory D. Aherne, S.J., died unexpectedly Monday, March 2, at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos, California. He was 82 years old. Born in San Francisco California, on April 5, 1926, Greg entered the Society of Jesus at Sacred Heart Novitiate in Los Gatos, California, on August 14, 1946. He pronounced final vows on February 2, 1963, in Cebu City in the Philippines. May he rest in peace.

All members of the California Province and those applied to it are to offer or celebrate one first intention Mass and members of the Jesuit Community at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center and those attached to it but living elsewhere (cf. 2009 Catalogus USA, pgs. 37-40) are to offer or celebrate one additional first intention Mass for the repose of Greg’s soul.
