September 12, 2019 – Jesuit West Province hosted a Leadership Workshop for 270 participants on the campus of Santa Clara University, September 3-5. Jesuits, Provincial Assistants, university presidents, board chairs, principals, superiors, directors of ministries and key members of apostolates participated in enrichment workshops, Mass in the Mission Church celebrated with Bishop Oscar Cantú of San Jose, the keynote presentation by Fr. Provincial Scott Santarosa, SJ in Mayer Theatre, along with breakout sessions, socials and meals. The following photos capture some of the energizing moments of these action-packed leadership days.
January 6, 2020 — For several days in late December, approximately 60 Jesuits in formation – from novices to those who have been preparing for priesthood for more than a decade -- gathered in the desert.
December 6, 2019 — Provincial Fr. Scott Santarosa, SJ, challenged Jesuits West leaders to flex its “Jesuit muscle” against injustice. This fall, Jesuits West ministries did just that, taking action to advocate for the environment and immigrants.
December 6, 2019 — Patrick Joseph Howell, SJ, priest, brother, uncle, friend, a man of God and disciple of God to others, left this world on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019, in Spokane, WA, due to complications from lung cancer.
November 22, 2019 — Following a violent clash between police forces and student protestors at the Jesuit University of Central America in Nicaragua, international Jesuit groups condemned the Nicaraguan government for escalating violence there.
